Anessa Schoo of Sheldon has signed a letter of intent to continue her running career at Northwestern College next fall.
Schoo is a 5’6″ distance runner who has competed four years in cross country and three in track and field heading into her final track season this spring for Sheldon High School. Schoo qualified for state cross country three years, finishing 31st as a junior. She earned all-conference honors all four years, finishing fifth as a junior and eighth as a senior at the conference meet. Schoo qualified for state track and field in both the 4×800 (Freshman) and in the 3K the last two years. She was named all-conference in the 3K as both a sophomore and junior. Schoo has personal bests of 20:28 in the 5K, 11:35 in the 3K and 2:28 in the 800m A member of the National Honor Society and honor roll, Schoo plans to major in elementary education and Spanish at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Bob and Kris.
“We are thrilled to have Anessa continue her running career as a Red Raider,” said Northwestern Head Coach Scott Bahrke. “She is a wonderful addition to our distance crew. Anessa possesses great work ethic and is a talented runner who will contribute to our program over the next four years.”
