Sioux City, Iowa – A Sheldon native has earn Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week honors as announced by the GPAC Tuesday, February 10th.
Jesse Van Kalsbeek of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men’s basketball offensive player-of-the-week. The sophomore posted two 30-point outings in a 2-0 week for Northwestern. He recorded double-doubles in both games, contributing 31 points and 10 boards in Wednesday’s win at Briar Cliff, before scoring 36 points with 10 rebounds on Saturday at Mount Marty.
Van Kalsbeek currently leads the NAIA in points per game at 28.5 and is second in rebounding average at 12.
