Sieperda, Cyclones To Toe Line At Stanford Invite

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State’s men’s distance squad will have five of its best toeing the line on Friday night at the Stanford Invitational in the Cyclone men’s first taste of long distance events during the outdoor season. Kelvin Bungei, Gable Sieperda and Nehemia Too will take part in the 5,000-meter run, while Ryan Ford and Thomas Pollard will take on the longest race of them all, the 10,000-meter run.

All five men who made the trip to Cobb Track will be making their outdoor season debuts this weekend. Sieperda was limited in his competition during the indoor season, but when he did run he put up some strong performances, going 13:44.75 at 5K at the Woo Pig Classic and 8:07.85 in the 3,000m at the Razorback Invitational. Sieperda will be in the invitational section of the 5,000m that will go off at 10:30 p.m.
