Sioux Center Iowa — Sioux Center moved on to the District baseball semis with a 14-2 five inning win over Western Christian in Sioux Center Saturday night. With the win it’s on to Larchwood for a 5:00 pm semifinal against West Sioux who recieved a first round bye.

The Warriors opened with 3 runs in the bottom of the first inning to go up early 3-0. Cade Bleeker led off with a double. Payton Boone reached on an error with Quin Byker hit by a pitch. All three would score as Issac Vietor singled in a run and Kendall Mouw doubled in a run.
A 7 run second inning effectively put the game away. Highlights included a 2 run single by Charlie Dykshorn and rbi’s from Boone, Vietor, Byker and Bleeker. The Warriors added 2 more in the third and 2 more in the fourth to close out the scoring.
Western got on the board in the fourth inning as Zach Van Essen reached on a fielders choice and came home when Levi VandenBos doubled. Evan Wibben doubled with 2 outs in the fifth and came home on Ty Van Essen’s rbi single.
Cody VanDenBerg went the first 4 innings for the win. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He struck out 5 and did not walk a batter. Tyson Boer took the loss for the Wolfpack.
With the win Sioux Center will take an 18-8 record into the District semis Tuesday night.
