(Sioux City, Iowa) – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) and Hauff Mid-America Sports are proud to announce the following football players-of-the-week for games played on Saturday, October 17, 2020. Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2020-21 GPAC Players-of-the-Week and Players and Coaches-of-the-Year awards program.
Offense – Shane Solberg, Wide Receiver (Northwestern College)
Northwestern wide receiver Shane Solberg is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Offensive Player-of-the-Week. Solberg, a senior from Boyden, Iowa, had a near-record setting day in leading Northwestern to a 31-17 win over previously unbeaten Concordia. Solberg caught 11 passes for a season-high 267 yards, two shy of his own school record that he set in 2018 against Briar Cliff. Solberg caught a pair of touchdown passes (45 yards, 19 yards) in his third straight game and has had at least 100 receiving yards in three of four games this season. The Raiders travel to Doane on October 24. Kick off will be at 1 pm.
