Northwest Iowa — It was a relatively quiet day for Iowa High School Tournaments on Thursday. Class 4A and 5A softball opens with the quarterfinal round of play. Area teams have been assigned to Region 1 of Class 4A.
Class 4A Region 1 (7:00 pm first pitch)
Upper Bracket
Caroll 14, Denison Schleswig 3
Lower Bracket
Spencer 14, Storm Lake 3
The upper bracket bye went to Sergeant Bluff Luton. The lower bracket bye went to Le Mars.
The Region semis will be decided on Saturday with the Region Championship set for Tuesday 7/21. Semi finals for Class 1A, 2A and 3A softball are set for Friday night. Also on Friday Class 3A baseball tournaments get underway as well.
