Friday marks day two of the State Boys and Girls Track and Field competition in Des Moines. The morning session opened at 9:00 am with Class 2A and 3A running events beginning with the Distance Medley Relay Finals for the girls. Also included in the first session are the 2A and 3A field events.
The afternoon/evening session on day two features Class 1A and 4A running events from 2:40 to 7:40 along with 1A and 4A field events. The three day run of the State Meet concludes on Saturday afternoon.
Thursday was a legendary day for the Sibley Ocheyedan boys 4×800 relay team setting a new State Record with a time of 7:58.47. Team members included Dawson Kreykes, David Poppen, Cale Reiter and Ben Byers. It’s only the second time a team has come in under 8 minutes at the State Meet.
