State Wrestling Tournament Qualifying Begins On Saturday February 6th

Northwest Iowa — Qualifying for the State Wrestling Tournament begins on Saturday February 6th with the Sectional round in Class 1A and 2A. Due to the number of teams Class 3A goes directly to District competition on Saturday the 13th. Wrestling begins at 12:00 noon both Saturdays.

In Class 2A District two the section 4 tournament will be hosted by West Lyon and the grouping includes:
BH/RV, Central Lyon/GLR, Bishop Heelan, MOC-Floyd Valley, Sheldon-South O`Brien, Sioux Center and host team West Lyon.

The section 3 tournament will be hosted by Harlan and includes:
Cherokee, Kuemper Catholic, OABCIG, Ridge View, Sergeant Bluff-Luton and host Harlan. The top 2 individuals in each section move on to the District round on Saturday the 13th at Bishop Heelan.

Algona, Emmetsburg, Estherville/Lincoln Central, Humboldt, Okoboji-HMS and Spirit Lake Park have been assigned to Section 8 to be held at Spirit Lake. The top 2 will move on to go against the top two from Section 7 at the District 4 meet to be hosted by Humboldt.

In Class 1A Akron-Westfield, Hinton, Kingsley-Pierson, Sibley-Ocheyedan, Western Christian, Woodbury Central and West Sioux will be in Section 12 at West Sioux. The top two finishers advance to the District 6 meet against the top two from Section 11. The District meet will be hosted by Sioux Central in Sioux Rapids.

In Class 3A Ankeny, Le Mars, Sioux City East, Sioux City North, Sioux City West, Spencer, Storm Lake and Fort Dodge will get together in Fort Dodge on Saturday the 13 for the District 4 tournament with the top two advancing to the State Meet.
