Sioux Center, Iowa– Tyler Stumbo, a senior at Okoboji High School, has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender basketball program.
Stumbo, a 6-4 guard/forward, has scored over 1,700 career points, grabbed over 500 career rebounds and handed out over 300 assists during three seasons of basketball. He was a two-time Twin Lakes All-Conference pick as a sophomore and junior while competing for Laurens-Marathon. He claimed second-team all-state honors from the Iowa Newspaper Association in 2014 and was a first-team all-area pick by the Storm Lake Times and Storm Lake Tribune. He averaged 24.6 points per game with 10.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists during the 2013-14 season. He’s followed that with a 20.6 points per game average with 6.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists this season while competing for Okoboji while converting 52 percent of his field goals. He was named first-team all-Siouxland Conference for 2014-15.
Tyler is the son of Brett and Danelle Stumbo of Milford, Iowa.
