The Future Of The Big 12 Conference Is In Doubt

Irving, Texas — Texas and Oklahoma made it official and the future of the Big 12 is in doubt.

Texas and Oklahoma took one step closer to leaving the Big 12 for the Southeastern Conference. Monday the schools released a joint statement saying they would not extend their grant rights agreements with the Big 12 passed June of 2025. If Oklahoma and Texas were to leave prior to 2025, each school could owe as much as 85 million dollars.

Multiple sources report that the Southeastern Conference schools could vote later this week to allow the Longhorns and Sooners to join
