MOC-Floyd Valley vs Okoboji
MOC-Floyd Valley remained winless last week after falling to Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley 42-12. Duthcmen Head Coach Grant Hegstad says he was pleased with his defense’s effort in the loss.
This week MOC-Floyd Valley squares off against the Okoboji Pioneers. Hegstad says the Pioneers can attack from all angles.

Sheldon vs CL/GLR
Following a home win on senior night the Orabs take a 3-5 season record and 2-2 in the district to CL-G-LR. The Lions have wrapped up the district title with an overtime win at Sioux Center last Friday. They are 4-0 in the district and 4-4 on the season.
Three areas of the Lions team in particular stand out to Orab Head Coach Tyler Lloyd.
For Lloyd the keys to the game come together this way.
Head Coach Curtis Eben and his Lion squad are not taking the Sheldon offense lightly.
For the Lions a big key will be recognition on defense.

Unity vs Sibley-Ocheyedan
Unity Christian fell to West Sioux last week 48-6, but Knights Head Coach Josh Van Kempen was proud of his kids effort.
In the week 8 RPI, Unity Christian was ranked 18th, and still has an outside shot at the playoffs, but Van Kempen is looking more towards trying to finish the season with a winning record for the first time since 2011.
The Knights face Sibley-Ocheyedan and the Generals quarterback Beau Jenness grabs his attention.
The keys to the game for Unity is contain Jenness.

BHRV vs Sioux Center
The Nighthawks close the year at home against Sioux Center. BHRV is 3-1 in the district and 3-5 on the season. The Warriors are 3-1 in the district as well and 5-3 for the year following last Friday’s overtime loss in Sioux Center.

A big key to a win will be how the Nighthawks can matchup early.

Western vs West Lyon
Western Christian improved to 8-0 after defeating Emmetsburg last week 28-7. Wolfpack Head Coach Travis Kooima says the second half push by his team was the key to victory last week.
This week Western is on the road to West Lyon, and according to Kooima his defense will have their hands full with West Lyon’s potent rushing attack.
The key to the game is stopping the Wildcat rushing attack.
West Lyon Wildcats Head Coach Jay Rozeboom says big games like this come down to execution.
Rozeboom says it will take a complete effort to get a win.

HMS vs Gehlen
HMS won their second game in a row 60-8 over MMCRU last week. Hawks Head Coach Tyler Horkey said his team played hard all game long.
Horkey says this week is a big matchup against Gehlen with HMS playing to finish above .500 and Gehlen playing for a playoff spot.
Coach Horkey says the key to the game is slowing down the Jay’s passing attack.

South O’Brien vs Hinton
South O’Brien rebounded with a 35-0 win over Akron-Westfield after dropping the first game of the season in week 7. Wolverines head coach Mark Fuhrman applauds his big men up front who paved the way for Tristan Wilson.
South O’Brien squares off against Hinton this week. The Blackhawks are undefeated in the district and Fuhrman says this game affects the entire district.
Keys to the game for Fuhrman are the simple: Run. Block. Tackle.

Northwestern vs Doane
The Northwestern Red Raiders edge Concordia 20-14 in a defensive battle in Seward, Nebraska last week Saturday. Red Raiders Head Coach Matt McCarty was happy with how his team battled through adversity.
Northwestern is back at home this Saturday after a two game road stretch against Doane. The Tiger’s 3-5 defense is what grab McCarty’s attention.
McCarty says the key to the game is capitalize on the opportunities.
