Trio of Area Boys Golfers Qualify for State Meets

golf picNorthwest Iowa — Boy’s golf reached the state qualifying round Thursday and Friday. In Class 1A Central Lyon, MMC and Akron Westfield advanced to the Spencer Golf and Country Club for Thursday’s meet. But no area golfers were able to advance to the state meet.

Sioux Center, Western Christian and E-LC teams along with area individuals were at Emerald Hills for the 2A District meet Friday. West Lyon advanced Dylan Whalen and Jaden Snyder as individuals. E-LC was able to advance as a team to the 2A state meet set for the Ames Golf and Country Club on May 29th and 30th.

MOC Floyd Valley, Spencer and area individuals were at Majestic Hill in Dennison for the 3A District meet Friday. MOC-Floyd Valley’s Tate Arends was able to advance as an individual but the two area teams were unable to advance to the 3A state meet at Spring Valley Golf Course in Livermore Iowa.
