Trio of Northwest Iowa Graduates Look To Remain On NFL Rosters

Three players who came from northwest Iowa high school programs are looking to remain on NFL rosters as the preseason gets underway.

The first full week of the preseason begins Thursday night and will run through the weekend. A pair of Sioux Center Warriors earned roster spots last season. Christian Rozeboom of Sioux Center is listed as a first team inside linebacker on the Rams early season depth chart. High School team mate Ko Keift is listed as the #2 tight end on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp depth chart. Veteran Andrew Van Ginkel who came through the Boyden Hull Rock Valley program is listed as the #2 right outside linebacker on the Miami Dolphins pre season season depth chart.

Another area high school graduate announced his retirement from football Sunday. Monte Pottebaum the multi year starter at fullback for the Iowa Hawkeyes had signed with the Pittsburg Steelers stealers as an undrafted free agent following this years NFL draft. Pottebaum is a former West Lyon Wildcat.
