Two Dordt University Defenders earn GPAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week honors

Sioux City, Iowa – Two Dordt University women’s basketball players have been named as Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week honors as announced by the GPAC Tuesday, December 16th.

Gracie Schoonhoven of Dordt University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women’s basketball offensive player-of-the-week.  Schoonhoven, a junior from Hospers, had a career-high 35 points in a win over #14 Dakota Wesleyan and followed that with a 26-point performance over #9 Concordia.

She converted 65 percent of her field goals and had eight rebounds in each game.

Macy Sievers of Dordt University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women’s basketball defensive player-of-the-week.  Sievers, a senior from Storm Lake, averaged 12.5 defensive rebounds per game in a pair of wins over #14 Dakota Wesleyan and #9 Concordia.

She also had 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game as well as pitching in offensively with 15.5 points and 8.0 assists per game.
