Two Local Athletes Earn GPAC Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week honors

Sioux City, Iowa – Two athletes from Dordt University and Northwestern College have earned Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Women’s Basketball Player-of-the-Week honors as announced by the GPAC Tuesday, November 11th.

Macy Sievers of Dordt University is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women’s basketball offensive player-of-the-week.  Sievers, a senior from Storm Lake, Iowa, recorded her second career triple-double in a win over John Brown.

In the game she had 15 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds. For the week she averaged a double-double in points and assists in the two wins and also had three steals per game.

Kylie Foss of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports women’s basketball defensive player-of-the-week.  Foss, a senior from Brandon, South Dakota, was a defensive presence on the boards and on the ball, totaling eight steals, two blocks, and 27 rebounds for the week.

She had a career-high seven steals in Friday’s win over John Brown and grabbed 13 rebounds in the season-opening win at Viterbo. On the week, Foss averaged 9.0 rebounds, 2.7 steals, and 0.7 blocks.
