Sioux City, Iowa – Two Northwestern College Red Raiders have earned Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Golf Player-of-the-Week honors as announced by the GPAC Wednesday, April 8th.
Brooke Thompson of Northwestern College is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Golfer-of-the-Week. Thompson, a freshman from Story City, Iowa, went 3-0 in match play last week, leading the Raiders to a third-place finish in the event.
She defeated Hope Faber (Dordt) 6&4, Emmarie Miles (Doane) 5&4, and Ellery Jansen (Briar Cliff) 7&6.
Evan Smith of Northwestern College is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Golfer-of-the-Week. Smith, a sophomore from, Knoxville, Iowa, went 3-0 in match play, leading the Raiders to a first-place finish at the Briar Cliff Spring Match Play Championship.
He defeated Trevor Seeley (Hastings) 2&1, Leo Garcia (Mount Marty) 4UP, and Trey Van Groningen (Dordt) 5&3.
