Northwest Iowa — The Miami Dolphins selected Wisconsin linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel in the NFL Draft. They selected the one time Boyden Hull Rock Valley Nighthawk stand out in the 5th round with the 151st overall selection.
The 6-3 241 pound Van Ginkel earned third-team All-Big Ten honors at linebacker for Wisconsin. He started 11 games and had 46 tackles, seven for loss to go with 4 and a half sacks, two pass breakups and one blocked kick. In his first year at Wisconsin he had 6 and a half sacks and two picks. In the Orange Bowl, he had an interception and a sack against the University of Miami.
Van Ginkel started his college career at the University of South Dakota before moving on to Iowa Western Community College with a final stop at the University of Wisconsin.
