Van Gorp Signs With NWC Basketball

Orange City, Iowa — Mitchal Van Gorp has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Northwestern College next year.

Van Gorp is a 6’3” guard who lettered two years for Sheldon High School. Van Gorp averaged nearly five points per game and dished out 33 assists in leading Sheldon to the Siouxland Conference Championship and a 19-5 overall record. He was named the teams’ most improved player and earned academic all-conference honors. Van Gorp plans to study Business Administration at Northwestern and is the son of John and Anna.

“Mitchal loves the game of basketball and is a great teammate,” commented Northwestern head coach Kris Korver. “He is a young man with great character and is an excellent student. We are excited that Mitchal will join the NWC family.”
