Van Meeteren To Run for NWC

Northwestern logoOrange City, Iowa —Emma Van Meeteren has signed a letter of intent to continue her cross country career at Northwestern College next fall.

Van Meeteren competed a combined seven years for the Sheldon High School cross country and track and field teams. Van Meeteren earned all-conference honors two years (sophomore and senior) and qualified for the state meet as a senior where she finished 56th. She has personal bests of 20:20 in the 5K, 5:18 in the 1500m and 11:18 in the 3K. An academic all-state selection and member of the National Honor Society, Van Meeteren plans to major in Biology and Math at Northwestern. She is the daughter of Brian and Jill.

“We are excited to have Emma run for our Northwestern College cross country team this fall,” commented head Northwestern cross country coach Scott Bahrke. “She had a great senior year and will continue to see improvement in her distance running. Emma is a hard worker and a great encourager. She will be a great fit for our team.”
