Jonah Vander Kooi, a senior at Unity Christian High School, has announced his intention to attend Dordt College and join the Defender track and field program.

Vander Kooi has qualified for the Iowa High School State Track and Field Meet twice in the long jump and has a personal best of 20-3.5 in the event. “Jonah is a talented jumper and sprinter that will add depth to those areas of our team. He is a strong student-athlete and will be a great fit for our program. Jonah has been a very competitive high school jumper, and I anticipate with his talent and work ethic that he will continue to improve in college. We are very excited that Jonah has chosen to continue his education and athletic career at Dordt College!” said Dordt College track and field coach Craig Heynen.

Jonah is the son of Shane and Kristi Vander Kooi of Sioux Center, Iowa.
