The Minnesota Vikings officially introduced new tight end T-J Hockenson earlier this week at team headquarters in Eagan. Hockenson then took part in his first practice as a member of the team.
The Vikings added Hockenson in an N-F-L trade deadline deal on Monday. Minnesota acquired the pass catcher from Detroit in exchange for swapping a couple of draft positions over the next two years. Hockenson was a Pro Bowl pick in 2020 and has 26 receptions this year. The former Iowa Hawkeye standout says he is excited to be in Minnesota.
Hockenson on whether he had an idea he might be traded by the Lions.
Hockenson was asked if he’s had any prior relationship with any of his new Vikings’ teammates.
Hockenson says he can’t wait to begin playing with QB Kirk Cousins.
Hockenson says he was immediately welcomed by head coach Kevin O’Connell.
Hockenson intended to learn the offense as quickly as he can.
He said he was going to get right to work on this week’s game plan for Washington.
The Vikings play the Commanders in DC Sunday. Kick off is set for 12 noon.
