NWC Volleyball Schedule Released For 2020 Season

Orange City, Iowa — Northwestern College has released its volleyball schedule for the upcoming 2020 season.

The Red Raiders ended the 2019 season ranked sixth in the NAIA, losing in the quarterfinals to finish 32-2

Northwestern won the 2019 GPAC Regular Season title with a perfect 16-0 record

Northwestern will open the 2020 season in California at the Hope International Tournament on Aug. 21-22, followed by two additional tournaments in La Crosse, Wis. (Aug.28-29) and Sioux Center (Sept.4-5)

The Red Raiders will play the standard 16 GPAC matches, 8 home and 8 away, beginning with a road date against Morningside on Sept. 2. The 2020 home opener will be against Dordt on Sept. 15.

The Red Raiders will host Viterbo for its lone non-conference match after the weekend tournaments. The V-Hawks lost in the national semifinals and finished No.3 in the final poll.

Northwestern will play eight matches against teams that were recognized in the final poll (weekend tournament opponents not included); Jamestown, Dordt, Viterbo, Concordia, College of Saint Mary and Midland.

The 2020 opponents have an overall win percentage of 61% (342-215); the eight-team GPAC Tournament begins on Nov. 7; NAIA Championship begins on Nov. 30.
