Western Falls At Sioux Falls Christian

Sioux Falls, South Dakota — The Western Christian Wolfpack fell to the Sioux Falls Christian Chargers Thursday night in Sioux Falls.

The Chargers were hitting on all cylinders early and took a 31-18 lead into the second quarter. In the second eight minutes, it was Western’s turn to catch fire. Ty Van Essen erupted for thirteen second quarter points and the Wolfpack jumped out in front at halftime 46-42. Both teams battled in the third and Sioux Falls Christian took a 59-55 lead into the final frame. Tight defense and key free throws by the Chargers sealed the game and Sioux Falls Christian went on to win 78-70.

The Chargers had four players in double figures. They got a game high 24 from Zach Witte, nineteen from Tyler Prins, 14 from Xavier Van Beek, and ten from Noah Van Donkersgoed. Western had three players in double figures. Western got a team high 23 from Ty Van Essen, 20 from Dawson Feenstra, and ten from Tyson Boer.

With the win Sioux Falls Christian improves to 13-3 on the year, and Western ends the regular season at 16-5.

Western will open up tournament play on Thursday the 20th at home against either Okoboji or Central Lyon with an 8 pm opening tip off.
