Orange City, Iowa — Emma Westphal (Hull, Iowa) has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Northwestern College beginning in the 2022 season.
Westphal is a 6’0″ outside hitter and three-year starter for the Western Christian High School volleyball team heading into her senior year this fall. Westphal put down 159 kills and 77 blocks in leading the Wolfpack to the 2A state semifinals last year. She was the starting outside hitter for the 2019 state championship team and is a two-time all-conference selection.
“Emma is an explosive attacker who has the ability to attack in multiple locations along the net,” said Northwestern Head Coach Kyle Van Den Bosch. “Emma is a quick jumper with a quick arm swing so she finishes points really well. We are very excited to welcome Emma to our campus and volleyball family.”
Westphal plans to study Special Education at Northwestern and is the daughter of Lonni and Tami.
“Northwestern is a great place for me to continue my Christian Education and volleyball career,” said Westphal. “I really enjoyed my visit to campus and everyone was very welcoming.”
