Sioux Falls, South Dakota — The Western Christian Wolfpack used a combined 50 points from Ty Van Essen and Tate Van Regenmorter to down Minneapolis North at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls Saturday night.
Western jumped out to an 8-0 to start the contest and had a 17-7 lead heading into the second quarter. The Polars started the second quarter on an 8-0 run, but Western responded with a 7-0 run and had a 26-19 lead heading into the half. It was back and forth in the 3rd quarter with each team scoring 21 points. In the fourth, Western took control and came away with the 68-50 win.
Western got a game high 28 points from Ty Van Essen and Tate Van Regenmorter added 22. Minneapolis North got a team high 12 points from Mario Sanders.
With the win, Western Christian improves to 18-1 on the year. The Polars falls to 10-4 on the season.
Up next for Western Christian is their Lakes Conference finale against Spirit Lake in Hull on Tuesday.
