Western Christian looks to wrap up their 38th appearance at the State Volleyball Tournament with another state title.
A pair of tradition rich schools will meet for the 2A title as Western the #3 seed meets top seed Dike New Hartford at 4:45 this afternoon. Western has put together a 40-5 record while Dike New Hartford is 53-1.
The Wolfpack advanced to the title match with a 3-1 win over #7 seed Osage . Osage got to the semis with a straight set upset win in the quarters against #2 seed Wilton. The set scores were 25-19, 11-25, 25-22 and 25-18. Stella Winterfeld had 14 kills followed by Abby VerBurg with 11. Just out of double figures was Ellie Dokter with 9. Double figure digs came from Winterfeld with 16 and libero Lydia Van Kley with 15. Jocelyn Oostenink and Kylie De Jager had 2 ace serves each.
