Nearby Amusement Park Goes Partially ‘Cashless’

Arnolds Park, Iowa — One of Iowa’s amusement parks is already “cashless” and another is taking a partial step this year. Jon Pausley is CEO of Arnolds Park in northwest Iowa.

Arnolds Park offers Midway games, as well as 23 different rides. The Lost Island Theme Park in Waterloo still accepts cash, but Adventureland in Altoona went cashless in 2022. The number of digital or “cashless” transactions has been rising steadily. The latest Federal Reserve study found about 20 percent of purchases made in the US in 2022 were made with cash.
