Zach Landhuis of Orange City has signed a letter of intent to continue his track and field career at Northwestern College next year.
Landhuis is a multi-sports standout who lettered three seasons for the MOC-Floyd Valley track and field team. Landhuis qualified for the Drake Relays in the discus as a senior and finished fourth in the discus at the Sioux City Relays in 2011. He has a personal best of 159’01” and also earned first team all-district honors as linebacker for the Dutch football team. An honors student and member of the National Honor Society, Landhuis plans to major in biology at Northwestern. He is the son of Mike and Nancy.
“Zach is a great addition to our squad,” commented head track and field coach Nate Wolf. “He has competed at a high level, throwing at the Drake Relays earlier this spring, and has been coached well in high school. I look for Zach to develop into a very good college thrower.”
