Iowa State Takes Down No. 10 Baylor Again

Iowa State made it three in a row over 10th ranked Baylor.

John Walters on the Cyclone Network. Iowa State used a 22-6 second half run to erase and eight point deficit in a 78-72 victory in the quarterfinal round of the Big 12 Tournament.

That’s ISU coach T.J. Otzelberger. The Cyclones trailed 50-42 before taking control to improve to 19-12 on the season.

The Cyclones outrebounded Baylor 46-28 and had 21 offensive boards.

Gabe Kalscheur led ISU’s balanced effort with 24 points. The Cyclones had four players in double figures.

Up next for the Cyclones is a 6:00 pm tip Friday night against the Kansas Jayhawks as the Big 12 tournament continues.

 


Sports Scores For Thursday March 9th

Thursday brought the Semifinals in 2A, 3A and 4A to set the stage for Championship Friday. Central Lyon had the first game of the day against Pella Christian followed by Western Christian and Roland Story.

2023 Basketball Hall Of Fame Inductees Include Bill Francis and Jared Homan

The IHSAA is proud to announce 2023 honorees for induction into the Basketball Hall of Fame and Officials Hall of Fame, with the six total selections to be honored during the 2023 IHSAA State Basketball Tournament at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. These honorees were nominated through their schools, recommended by the Hall of Fame selection committees, and approved by the Board of Control this winter. Selections will be introduced at halftime of the Class 3A championship game on Friday, set for a 5 p.m. tipoff.
