Boyden Man Taken To Hospital After Single-Vehicle Crash

Matlock, Iowa — A Boyden man was injured shortly before 10:00 yesterday (Thursday, June 1st) morning in a traffic crash that took place west of Matlock.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says that 51-year old Arlan Hollander of Boyden was westbound on 280th Street, about 2 miles west of Matlock, in a 1999 Ford F-250 pickup truck, when he reportedly experienced a medical condition, which caused him to lose control of the pickup.  The truck then entered the south ditch, and struck some trees, according to authorities.

Deputies say Hollander was transported to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center by the Boyden Ambulance for treatment of his injuries.

Deputies estimate the damage to Hollander’s pickup at $7-thousand.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Boyden Fire Department and Boyden Ambulance.
