Matlock Woman Taken To Hospital After Accident

Matlock, Iowa — A Matlock woman was taken to the hospital after an accident in Matlock on Sunday afternoon.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 2:20 p.m., 36-year-old Christopher Powell of Matlock was driving a 1999 Harley‐Davidson motorcycle eastbound on Matlock Boulevard. They say 40-year-old Rachel Powell of Matlock was driving a 2003 Harley‐Davidson motorcycle also eastbound beside Christopher Powell.

The report says Christopher Powell moved in front of Rachel, and slowed to retrieve an item from the roadway when he was struck by Rachel.

The Boyden Ambulance took Rachel Powell to Sanford Sheldon Hospital. They say Christopher was not injured.

The 2003 Harley‐Davidson sustained approximately $750 in damage.

Christopher Powell was cited on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.

The Sheriff’s Office says the Matlock Fire Department and Boyden Ambulance Squad assisted them.
