Larchwood, Iowa — A Lester man rolled a semi near Larchwood on Tuesday, December 15th.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 3:10 pm, 25-year-old Mitchell Monen of Lester was driving a 2008 Peterbilt semi tractor pulling a 2012 Wilson trailer, both owned by Bruggeman Farms Inc. of rural Larchwood, northbound on Birch Avenue, five miles southwest of Larchwood. According to the report, Monen reached for something, which caused him to enter the west ditch. The report continues that the tractor and trailer overturned in the ditch coming to rest on the driver’s side.
The Peterbilt received $4500 damage.
No injuries were reported.
Monen was cited with the charge of Failure to maintain control.
