Sibley Woman Misses Deer, Hits Culvert

Sanborn, Iowa — A Sibley woman’s vehicle was damaged after she struck a culvert on Friday, April 21st near Sanborn.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 6:30 pm on Friday, 49-year-old Ana Cuadros of Sibley was driving a 2008 Nissan Altima southbound on Sorrel Avenue, northeast of Sanborn. According to the report, Cuadros was going to turn east into the Van Ess Dairy driveway; Cuadros claimed there was a deer on the roadway, missed the deer, went into the east ditch and struck a box culvert at the intersection of 300th Street and Sorrel Avenue.

The Nissan received $8,000 damage.

No injuries were reported.
