Three Injured In Ireton Rollover Crash

Ireton, Iowa — The driver of a Chevrolet pickup, along with his two passengers, were injured late Tuesday in a single-vehicle rollover crash near Ireton.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened about 10:40 Tuesday evening on Dipper Avenue, about two miles southwest of Ireton. Deputies say a 1997 Chevrolet pickup, driven by 36-year old Darrick Toel of Le Mars, was northbound on Dipper Avenue when he lost control of the pickup, entered the west ditch, struck a field driveway and rolled.

Authorities report that Toel, and two passengers in his truck, were transported to the Hawarden Hospital by Ireton Ambulance for treatment of injuries that were described as minor.

Toel’s pickup received an estimated $15-thousand damage in the mishap, and Toel was cited for Failure to Maintain Control, and failure to use a child safety seat, according to authorities.

Sioux County deputies were assisted at the scene by the Ireton Ambulance, Ireton Fire Department and Ireton Rescue.
