Orange City Woman Taken To Hospital After Accident

Orange City, Iowa — An Orange City woman was taken to the hospital after an accident in Orange City on Thursday, February 25, 2016.

The Orange City Police Department reports that about 3:25 PM, 53-year-old Gail Van Grouw of Orange City was driving a 2002 Chrysler southbound on Albany Place Southeast. Seventy-three year-old Arlene Gesink of Orange City was westbound on Highway 10 in a 2005 Chrysler.

The report says that Van Grouw failed to stop for the red traffic light at Highway 10 and struck the Gesink vehicle in the intersection.

Officer Audley De Jong took Gesink to Orange City Health System Hospital.

The Chryslers sustained $1000 in damages, each.

Van Grouw was charged with failure to obey traffic control device.
