Driver Misses Dog, Ends Up in Field

sioux county sheriff emblemRock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley woman’s vehicle was damaged in an accident near Rock Valley on Wednesday, March 2nd.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 7:59 am on Wednesday, 28-year-old Maria Van’t Hul or Rock Valley was driving a 2007 Ford Focus northbound on Dove Avenue, three miles southwest of Rock Valley. According to the report, Van’t Hul swerved to avoid a dog on the roadway, lost control of the vehicle, entered the west ditch, struck a field driveway and a fence. The vehicle then came to rest in a farm field.

The Ford received $3000 damage. The fence received $100 damage.

No injuries were reported
