Garage And Two Cars Destroyed In Fire

Alvord, Iowa — A three-car garage and two cars were destroyed in a fire this week in Alvord.

According to Alvord Fire Chief Shawn Bosler, the Alvord Fire Department was called to the report of a garage on fire at 502 Third Street in Alvord.

The chief says the fire department saw the garage fully engulfed as they approached the scene. He says the garage was basically destroyed when they got there, so they defended other nearby buildings.

Bosler says no injuries were reported.

According to the chief, the fire department was assisted by the Doon Fire Department and Lester Rescue Squad.

He says the cause of the fire is undetermined.

Chief Bosler reports that the blaze totaled the garage and the two cars inside.

He says the roughly 30 firefighters who responded were on the scene for over two hours.
