Paullina, Iowa — A Paullina man was taken to the hospital after an accident on Paullina’s south side.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 1:15 AM on Sunday, September 6, 2015, 23-year-old Ty Koekkoek of Paullina was driving a 2012 Ford southbound on Poplar Avenue on the south end of Paullina.
The report says that Koekkoek ran off the road, essentially straight at a “T” intersection. His car struck the bottom of the ditch and it came to rest on the passenger side of vehicle. Koekkoek was able to exit out of the passenger front window.
The Paullina Ambulance took Koekkoek to the Orange City Area Health System hospital.
Koekkoek’s Ford sustained $10,000 in damages.
Charges are pending, and alcohol is believed to be a factor, according to the report.
