Rock Rapids, Iowa — A minivan was a total loss after an accident south of Rock Rapids on Wednesday, February 10th.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 2:00 pm on Wednesday, 25-year-old Angela Lanz of Madison, South Dakota was driving a 2005 Kia Sedona eastbound on A-26/180th Street, two miles south of Rock Rapids. Thirty-seven-year-old James White of Rock Rapids was driving a 2006 Freightliner Semi pulling a grain trailer southbound on Highway 75. According to the report, as Lanz approached the intersection of A-26 and Highway 75, she began to slide on the snow past the stop sign into the rear tires of the grain trailer.
The Kia received heavy damage and was a total loss. The grain trailer received $500 damage.
No injuries were reported
