Paullina House And Garage Receive Extensive Fire Damage

Paullina, Iowa– A house was “probably totaled” in a fire on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Paullina.

According to Paullina Fire Chief Brent Noteboom, about 9:00 p.m., the Paullina Fire Department was called to the report of a house fire at 122 East Day Street in Paullina.

The chief says the fire department saw the attached garage fully engulfed as they approached the scene. He says they used an exterior attack followed by an interior attack to fight the fire.

Noteboom says no injuries were reported and everyone got out safely.

The chief says the Granville Fire Department helped them fight the fire.

He says the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

Chief Noteboom says that there was extensive damage and he believes that the garage and house are probably totaled.

He says they used about 20,000 gallons of water to fight the fire, and the approximately 35 firefighters who responded were on scene for about two hours.
