UPDATE: Sheldon FD Called To Garage Fire

Sheldon, Iowa — A pair of boys playing with fire are said to be responsible for a fire in a Sheldon garage late Monday morning.

Assistant Sheldon Fire Chief Randy Harms says the fire in the garage at 702 6th Street was caused by two juvenile males who were playing with fire, and exploding cans.

Harms says the blaze was confined to the garage, and had been extinguished with a garden hose by the time firefighters arrived on scene.

According to Harms, the State Fire Marshal was notified, and the Juvenile Fire Starter Program was contacted for assistance.

Harms says SCAT was called to the scene to evaluate the two juveniles, but he says no one was injured or transported.

Harms says the incident remains under investigation.
