Sheldon, Iowa — A car was totaled in a fire on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, near Sheldon.
According to Sheldon Fire Assistant Chief Chuck Ball, at about 11:50 a.m., the Sheldon Fire Company was called to the report of a vehicle fire at 3079 Log Avenue, a mile west and a little over a mile north of Northwest Iowa Community College.
The chief says the fire department saw an engine fire on a Buick LeSabre as they approached the scene. He says they used water and foam to fight the fire.
Assistant Chief Ball says no injuries were reported.
He says the cause of the fire appeared to be electrical in nature.
Assistant Chief Ball reports that the vehicle was totaled in the blaze.
He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about an hour.
