Sheldon Woman Faces Burglary/Theft/Drug Charges

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon woman is facing burglary charges following an investigation into an incident in Sheldon that happened late last week.

According to court records, the arrest of 38-year old Kristen Marie Schaffer of Sheldon stems from alleged burglaries of a residence and a vehicle.

Court records indicate Schaffer is accused of entering an occupied Sheldon residence, and making off with a tablet and some household items. She is charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, which is a Class C Felony, in connection with that incident.

In addition, police say Schaeffer also entered a car parked outside the residence, making off with a black carry-on type bag, vehicle keys and fobs, Army-issued dog tags, military backpack with issued clothing and equipment, a tan pair of military boots, and several other keys. She is charged with 3rd Degree Burglary of a Vehicle, an Aggravated Misdemeanor, in connection with the alleged car burglary.

Online court records indicate that, in addition to the burglary charges, Schaffer is also charged with 4th Degree Theft, and 5th Degree Theft.

According to O’Brien County Jail records, Schaffer was arrested by an O’Brien County Deputy on these charges Tuesday morning (August 6th).

O’Brien County Jail records also indicate that Schaffer was arrested shortly after midnight Wednesday morning by a Sheldon Police officer on charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
