Hartley, Iowa — A Melvin teen was taken to the hospital after an accident near Hartley.
O'Brien Sheriff 71-6
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 1:14 PM on Monday, June 6, 2016, 18-year-old Katherine Perry of Melvin was driving a 2010 Jeep southbound on M18, about a mile east of Hartley. Forty-three year-old Thomas Kamm of Rushmore was westbound on Highway 18 in a 1996 International semi.

The report says that Perry was stopped at a stop sign and Kamm was approaching from the east. The report says Perry didn’t see the semi approaching and pulled out. That’s when the vehicles collided. Both vehicles went into the north ditch.

Perry’s mother took her to Spencer Hospital.

Perry’s Jeep Liberty sustained $6000 in damages, and Kamm’s International semi sustained $30,000 in damages.

No charges were filed.
