UPDATE: Police Seek Information In Moped Theft

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon Police have released additional photos of a red pickup truck that was involved in the theft of a moped from the Sheldon Middle School on Friday morning, August 30th.

Police say the theft took place at 11:39 that morning, and was captured by the school’s surveillance cameras. The pickup used by the duo who allegedly made off with the moped is a mid-2000s two-door red regular cab Chevrolet Silverado pickup with the Z71 logo at the rear of the side of the bed on both sides. Police say the truck some damage behind the driver’s door, and some rust above the wheel wells on the truck’s box.

Authorities say the stolen moped is a black 2011 Honda NPS50 moped, and it was taken from the north parking lot at the middle school.

Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon Police are seeking the public’s help in the case of a moped theft that occurred Friday at Sheldon Middle School.

Police say that at 11:39 Friday morning, August 30th, two people in a red pickup stole a black 2011 Honda NPS50 Moped from the north parking lot at Sheldon Middle School.

Police say the moped’s Vehicle Identification Number, or VIN, is JH2AF5806BK700916 and it had an Iowa license plate DU8709.

Sheldon police say the crime was captured by the school’s surveillance system, and photos of the theft, the truck used to commit the crime, and the perpetrators are posted below. Please look at the photos below, and if you have any information about this crime, you are asked to contact the Sheldon Police Department at 712-324-2525. Officers say your help will be greatly appreciated.
