3rd Reading Of Downtown Parking Ordinance At Wednesday Council Meeting

Sheldon, Iowa — The Sheldon City Council will meet at noon Wednesday, August 1st with an agenda that includes the third reading of an ordinance dealing with downtown parking and parking restrictions on East 6th Street. If it passes there would be a year-around ban on parking from 2 a.m. until 6 a.m. on a number of blocks in the downtown area. It would also prohibit parking any time on the north side of East 6th Street from 19th Avenue to 23rd Avenue.

In other business, the council will be asked to approve a resolution to make a series of transfers in the fiscal year 2017-2018 budget. They will also consider approval of the contract and bonds for the airport snow removal equipment building. And there will be a discussion on the city manager position profile. The council has approved using the services of Hinson Consulting for the city manager search.

Wednesday’s meeting begins at noon in the upper level of the Sheldon Community Services Center.
