Date posted - April 11, 2017
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before 4:00 p.m., 17-year-old Alex Gradert of Ireton was driving a 2012 Chevrolet westbound on Highway 10, about five miles southwest of Sioux Center. They say he was slowing for a vehicle turning ahead of him. The report says 24-year-old Marissa Snedeker of Hawarden was driving a 2015 Kia westbound behind Gradert and rear-ended his vehicle.
The Sioux Center Ambulance Squad took Snedeker to the Sioux Center Health Hospital.
The report says the Gradert Chevy sustained about $5,000 in damage and the Snedeker Kia sustained about $6,500 in damage. Snedeker was cited on a charge of following too closely.
The Sheriff’s Office says the Maurice Fire Department, Maurice Rescue Squad and the Sioux Center Ambulance Squad assisted them with the response to the accident.
