O'BrienSheriffO’Brien County, Iowa — Several accident happened over the course of the past week in O’Brien County

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that just after 4:15 pm on Friday, January 27th, 21-year-old Joseph Staneart of Sanborn was driving a 2002 Dodge Dakota northbound on Highway 59, southeast of Sanborn. According to the report, Staneart lost control of his pickup due to the icy/snow packed roads, entered the east ditch and rolled.

The Dodge received $2000 damage.

No injuries were reported.

A Paullina teen was injured in an accident east of Germantown on Monday, January 30th.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that at 4:00 pm on Monday, 18-year-old Martin Medina of Paullina was driving a Chevrolet 1500 westbound on 480th street, east of Germantown. According to the report, Medina lost control of the pickup, entered the south ditch, rolled and came to rest on it’s top.

The passenger in the vehicle, 14-year-old Vanessa Medina, reported minor injuries and was taken to Orange City Area Health System by private vehicle for treatment of her injuries.

The Chevrolet received $2719 damage.

A Sanborn teen escaped injury after his vehicle rolled east of Sheldon on Saturday, January 28th.

According to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office at 12:30 pm on Saturday, 16-year-old Issac Visser of Sanborn was eastbound on Highway 18 driving a 2002 Pontiac sedan. According to the report, there was some blowing snow sticking on the road surface. Visser touched the brakes and the car began to lose control. Visser then over corrected and went off the road into the north ditch. The Pontiac caught traction in deep snow and rolled over coming to rest on its wheels in the north ditch.

The Pontiac received $2,000 damage.

No injuries were reported.
