Woman Airlifted To Hospital After Crashing Motorcycle

Sanford Air Med 9Hudson, South Dakota — A South Dakota woman was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital following a motorcycle accident in extreme western Sioux County Saturday afternoon.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 55-year old Karen McCord, of Renner, South Dakota, was driving a 2002 Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on 360th Street, about a mile east of Hudson, South Dakota, when she entered a curve in the roadway, lost control of her motorcycle, entered the south ditch and struck a fence.

Deputies say McCord was ejected from the motorcycle in the ditch.  She was transported by helicopter to Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls for treatment of her injuries.

The accident report indicates that damage to McCord’s motorcycle is estimated at $4-thousand.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and Hudson Emergency Responders.
