Boyden Bash Offers Fun For All

Boyden, Iowa — If you’re looking for some fun this weekend, one of your options is the festivities going on in Boyden for this year’s Boyden Bash.

It starts this Friday at noon with a golf tournament. Friday evening there will be Ferris wheel and train rides, inflatables and carnival games in Centennial Park. Also at the park will be a pork sandwich meal starting at 5:30, and a dessert auction starting at 7.

At 8, there’s a Glow In The Park 1-mile and 5K. Then at 9:30 there’s an outdoor family movie.

Saturday’s activities at Centennial Park start at 8 a.m. with a bean bag tournament, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and concessions. At 10:30 it’s the kiddie parade, and at 11, frozen treats will be available, and the cook-off begins.

At 12:30, there will be a magic show, and at 1:30 they’ll recognize donors and the citizen and student of the year.

On the FCS property south of New Taft Street, the mini tractor pull gets underway at 11:00.

Also getting underway at 11, but at Centennial Park, it’s Skeeball and Soccer Darts and the inflatables, along with an obstacle course. The photo booth starts at 11:30.

Starting at 1:30 is the Spot Shot Contest. At 2, there will be Creative Spirits Painting in Centennial Park. They’ll try to have that in the open shelter, but if the weather doesn’t cooperate, they’ll have it at the Demco Center.

Sunday’s activities start at 9 a.m. with a frisbee golf tournament. The community worship service starts at 10 at the Boyden First Reformed Church. The omelette brunch starts at 11:30 at the Demco Center, with freewill donations going to the park.
